Les Traces. Pablo Briones
Domitila has been an undocumented domestic worker living in Geneva for more than 20 years. After losing her daughter, she finds herself in an unprecedented economic and social precariousness.
Born in Tucumán in 1983, Pablo Briones is an Argentine filmmaker who explores the liminal space between documentary and fiction. After studying film at UNC in Argentina, he earned a Master’s degree in Film Directing from ECAL/HEAD in Switzerland. As part of filmmaking labs, he worked alongside filmmakers such as Abbas Kiarostami, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and Pedro Costa.
His short films have been presented at prestigious festivals such as Locarno, Visions du Réel, and Oberhausen. His film Baracoa was nominated for Best Documentary at the 69th Berlinale and received several awards, including the Youth Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest and the Audience Award at the Málaga Film Festival.
