19e Prix national Photographie Ouverte
The 19th edition of the Prix National Photographie Ouverte drew a lot of submissions! No fewer than 353 in total competed for the jury’s favour.
As in previous years, photographers were given complete freedom to choose the theme of their work. While for some, this lack of guidelines may prove unsettling, it allows a great number of photographers to give free rein to their individual sensibilities and motivations. It also allows the jury to confront authentic photographic approaches – submitted anonymously – that are underpinned by a genuine vision rather than merely compare approaches based on an imposed theme.
And it is indeed photographic approaches that the jury is seeking to distinguish, approaches reinforced by the quality of the selection of images on offer.
The twelve prize-winners will take part in an exhibition at the Pho- tography Museum from 1 June to 29 September 2024, the prizes will be announced at the opening of the exhibition.
A book will accompany the exhibition which will include the works of the twelve exhibitors as well as those of other authors noticed by the jury.
