Jérôme Cortie. Paradise
When its scientific mission comes to an end, a satellite in charge of monitoring climate falls up to 28.000km/km on a devastated Earth. In its mad race, it meets a operating guide for Pelerin, an apocalyptic tourism agency that offers survivors expeditions to thrilling places.
Jérôme Cortie (born 1992 in Aubervilliers) is graduated from Le Fresnoy – National Studio for Contempo- rary Arts, Louis Lumière and Sciences Po. His work combines historical references and science fiction to question the collective belief structures that shape our relationship with technology, mythology and future stories.
By putting things into historical perspective and by associating accidental references, he questions the perception of our environment and its protection.
His research mainly takes the form of hybrid installations, videos and video games in which questions of interactivity and shared experience are central.
